The Canadian military “subcontracted torture” to the Afghan security service and shot an unarmed 17-year-old man in the back of the head, alleges an Afghan-Canadian who worked as an interpreter for the Canadian armed forces in Afghanistan.
Ahmadshah Malgarai alleged Wednesday that, after killing the man in the village of Hazrat-e Baba, Canadian soldiers “panicked” and rounded up 10 innocent villagers, including a 10-year-old boy and a crippled 90-year-old man, and transferred them to Afghan’s security service, the National Directorate of Security. He was not an eyewitness, but claimed to have read an intelligence report on the incident.
