The White House warned that U.S.A. faces the risk that the terrorist organizations could exploit the broad operational network of drug cartels already operating in the United States.
Due to this potential threat, it becomes more urgent the need to strengthen controls and monitoring the southern border, that according to the assessment contained in the National Strategy for Drug Control, released on Monday.
The document, prepared by the Office of the National Drug Control Program (NDCP), indicates that this’ massive red ‘operations of drug traffickers have created a serious security threat to national security’.
“Drug traffickers have created a network of safe houses, organized cells specialized in drugs, weapons and money laundering and a virtual army of carriers, vehicles and advanced communications and logistics, ” the document says.
