A worldwide poll conducted over the Internet revealed that Brazil is the overwhelming favorite among the public to win the World Cup in South Africa , said the brazilian internet newspaper estadao.com.br
Twenty-seven thousand people in 55 countries answered the questionnaire made by Nielsen Research Institute and the result is clear: Brazil is by far the overwhelming favorite in the competition.
In all, 34% of the interviewed people see Brazil as the main contender for the title. In Latin America this percentage rises to 57% and in Brazil, 86% of respondents believe in hex.
In second place in the bookmarks are tied Argentina, England, Spain, Germany and the United States, all with 9% of the vote. Following Italy (6%) and France (5%).
The survey also shows that only a third of respondents around the world are considered fan or interested in football. However, in Brazil this number reaches 69% of respondents.
According to these statistics, Brazil is the country that has the highest percentage of football fans in the world, followed by Portugal (60%) and, surprisingly, Egypt (56%) and Indonesia (54%).
According to Nielsen, 84% of Brazilians will watch the games in the cup. This is also the highest percentage among all countries that took part in the survey.
