Brazil is militarizing its borders to stop illegal drug trafficking.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said last week that he seeks to bring the armed forces in the fight against drug trafficking.

From now on, and according to the presidential decree (law 10/2010 PLC) , the brazilian military may arrest, seize and imprison civilians under legal protection.

While the army already had authorization to intervene in case of need, the novelty is that now the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) and the Navy may proceed without waiting for the police. READ MORE HERE (IN SPANISH)
