International Conflict: Sinaloa Cartel planned bombings and killing of state officials in Uruguay.

Uruguay : Under Secretary of Interior Jorge Vazquez

The Sinaloa Cartel was behind a plot to kill the leaders of the Ministry of Interior and Anti Narcotics Police in Uruguay. This new development was informed to the public by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior of Uruguay , Jorge Vazquez (also brother of the former President of Uruguay Dr. Tabare Vazquez). He reported that mexican illegal traffickers of narcotics intended to perpetrate attacks against him and other officials involved in combating drugs.
Interviewed in a TV program, Vazquez said the killing operation was entirely planned by mexican criminals in which hired assasins had been hired to execute “the contract”. “We listen to the plans of these criminals but in addition we have recorded their conversations, we have the photos of them being photographed by the DEA (U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency) and we know their names,” said Vazquez.

The mode of attack would be through the explosion of bombs, and the executioners were members of the mexican Sinaloa drug cartel.

In Uruguay the authorities have been succesfull in the struggle against these criminals. The police arrested 60 drug traffickers, most of them very important inside the organization. In particular there are three Mexicans “Sinaloa” druglords already imprisoned in Uruguay:  Ismael Ruiz Casillas alias Tyson, David Flores Tinarejo, alias Chiri and Diego Martinez. Also a colombian drug trafficker has been imprisoned in Uruguay:  Gustavo Duran Batista.

Due to these criminals, both Jorge Vazquez as the principal police inspector (R) Julio Guarteche, director of the National Police, had to move to safe houses and use armored cars, something really unheard in Uruguay before the intervention of the mexican drug cartels.
