Bogotá, Colombia .- Colombia and Ecuador agreed to restore full diplomatic relations, suspended for over two years as a reaction of the ecuatorian government after a Colombian military attack against FARC guerrillas in the neighboring country.

The restoration is becoming a new foreign policy achievement of the new President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, who previously resumed diplomatic relations with Venezuela.

Ecuador in March 2008 suspended diplomatic relations with Bogota after Colombian military bombed a jungle area of Ecuador, in an attack that killed the leader of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), Raul Reyes and 24 other people.
