South America recognizes Palestine, now is Ecuador´s turn.

Last Friday, Ecuador acknowledged Palestine as a free and independent state with borders prior to the Israeli occupation of 1967.

The official recognition, signed by President Rafael Correa, is to “vindicate the valid and legitimate yearning of the Palestinian people to have a free and independent state” and “achieved through dialogue and negotiation peaceful coexistence”in the Middle East , stated in a note issued by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ecuador becomes the fourth South American country after Argentina, Bolivia and Brazil, who made this diplomatic move this month in favor of  Palestine. Two other nations, Chile and Uruguay, announced the intention to do so soon.
