Also Guyana recognized Palestina stateshood.

The palestinian-israeli conflict shows no sign of solution.

Now is Guyana´s turn to recognize Palestina.  Joining a increasing group of other South American nations, Guyana recognized palestinian stateshood in an effort for Palestinian and Israeli peace negotiations.

Last Thursday the foreign ministry of Guyana stated that the increasing recognition of Palestina by nations will “contribute to a resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the creation of lasting peace and stability in the region.”

Israeli officials have reacted to Guayana´s  declaration by calling them meaningless and counterproductive to the peace progress in the Midlle East.

U.S.A. says that the position of some south american countries in regard to Palestina is “premature”.

Two weeks ago, Ecuador acknowledged Palestine as a free and independent state with borders prior to the Israeli occupation of 1967.

The official recognition, signed by President Rafael Correa, is to “vindicate the valid and legitimate yearning of the Palestinian people to have a free and independent state” and “achieved through dialogue and negotiation peaceful coexistence”in the Middle East , stated in a note issued by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Guyana is the fifth South American country after Argentina, Bolivia , Ecuador and  Brazil, who made this diplomatic move this month in favor of  Palestine. Two other nations, Chile and Uruguay, announced the intention to do so soon.
