The economic crisis is still not affecting the arms industry. In the first half of 2010, the Spanish arms exports increased by 77% over the same period last year. These data were outlined yesterday in a report by the Ministry of Industry in which, however, does not detail all recipient countries.

According to this document, Iran was the main importer of spanish weapons for dual civil and military use during the first six months of 2010, for a total of 33.2 million euros. This represents a significant increase compared to 2009, when the value of these exports amounted to 17.3 million euros and accounted for 38.4% of the total.
