The drug cartels in Mexico have used cash and sexual “favors” as ways to bribe U.S. border and customs agents, an inspector general investigation has found.

The corrupted agents allow/protect/escort contraband (allegedly drugs), traffickers or illegal immigrants through inspection lanes, and other crossing points. The bribed agents also -allegedly- leak sensitive information, said Charles Edwards, acting inspector general of the Department of Homeland Security.

Testifying before a Senate subcommittee, Edwards cited the Zetas drug cartel as one of the leaders “involved increasingly in systematic corruption” of U.S. agents. READ MORE HERE.
