A source at the Foreign Ministry of Cuba said the president’s health is “a matter of Venezuela” and that information “is being handled by the Venezuelan side.”

Chavez arrived in Havana last June 8 on an official visit to Cuba after visiting Brazil and Ecuador. Two days later, on June 10, Chavez underwent emergency surgery in Havana due to a pelvic abscess, as reported at the time by the venezuelan government.

Since then, in Havana there has been no official statement on the subject by the authorities. The cuban media is basically limited to publishing information dated in Caracas.
