A series of security incidents that happened here during the Military World Games cast shadow over the two biggest international sport events that Brazil is going to host — 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Rio Olympics.
Four armed men broke into one of Rio de Janeiro’s luxurious hotels and robbed guests including foreign tourists before dawn on Monday, police said.
The hotel situated in Rio’s hilly Santa Teresa district opened in 2008 with the best rooms pricing up to about 2,000 dollars per night.
