Americas Security News.- Google buys Titan Aerospace

Google  acquired drone maker Titan Aerospace, a move oriented to advance delivery of Google´s  data services and mapping applications, through a myriad of drone satellites.

According to the drone company, Titan’s solar-powered aircraft can fly at 65,000 feet and can act as “atmospheric satellites.” They are designed to stay in the air for years and can provide voice and data services, according to Titan. The drones can also take images of the Earth and carry atmospheric-based sensor systems. Supposedly, Google will use the drones to impulse the use of Internet in the world.

Facebook is also trying a similar thing, while  in talks with Titan Aerospace earlier this year, the social network later said it was bringing on team members from U.K.-based Ascenta, which makes its own solar-powered, unmanned aircraft.
