How to select a Security Expert

222securitymanagerA balance between ego drive and empathy could serve the expert who is knowledgeable in their field of expertise besides being up-to-date with current challenges in criminology and enthusiastically strives to master certain skill-craft with passion.

The world of security is changing at a fast rate, where experts may be called in to assist as a band-aid solution before a pro is selected or an in-house staff is trained to facilitate the solution from within.

We are going into a new chapter of history shortly and the roll-out in the next few weeks will determine if an expert needs to be summoned to assist for advising in or for training operations and mobilization or technology to assist such.

Why could the Director of Security recruit a security manager or why does the security manager insist on someone in particular? – is there a motive or is the person the best talent acquired for the project?

Is the current security manager the expert of all. Do they feel inadequate when they have to source out and does that feeling restrict and retard the security infrastructure? – Furthermore, do they have sufficient self confidence to consult with security experts that are proficient in their fields?

Be it cyber, surveillance, counter corruption& fraud, CP, travel security adviser, counter kidnap, ‘special subject’ training, loss prevention, polygraph examiner, insider threat or the physical security expert – the right person for the job outweighs recruiting contacts, family and friends as assets and peoples lives are at risk.
