Argentinian film The secret of his eyes
The film directed by Juan Jose Campanella won the prize that kept Argentine and the rest of The Americas in suspense. It is the second time in which Argentinian film gets the statuette. “The secret of his eyes (El secreto de sus ojos)” this early morning won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film category in which it competed with Peruvian film “The Empty Nest,” the Israeli “Ajami,” France “A prophet” and German ” The white ribbon”.
Campanella’s film is the sixth film that Argentina competed for Oscars.The first statuette was awarded for the film “The Official Story” in the 80´s, describing the case of a torturist during the military dictatorship.
The Secret in Their Eyes” (El Secreto de Sus Ojos) is about a retired prosecutor haunted by a 25-year-old rape and murder case who tries to find the culprit.
The film “The secret of his eyes” of Juan Jose Campanella which was watched in Argentina by 2.5 million people, garnered several awards, including the Goya Award for Best Film in Spain, in Berlin, in Cannes and Latin-American distinctions achieved in the Latin American Film Festival Havana.
